Centra (Poland) / c. 1935

back next

Design: A simple but powerful typographic design, with an emphasis on an unusual downward-looking three-dimensional effect achieved by screens of the blue background colour. The label name lettering, though mostly sans serif, has some Gothic attributes with the angular strokes at the bottom of n, t and r.

History: Label scan courtesy of collector Lucyna Lachowicz of Poland, who writes: "Centra was a Polish company which between the years 1934 to 1939 produced styli for gramophones, as well as radio and bike parts. This record was produced for them by Syrena Electro."
