Broadcast 2

Broadcast Twelve (U.K.) / 1930

back next

Design: The Art Deco influence is apparent here in the angular lettering of the word 'Twelve' and the general treatment of the upper segment, while the lower segment is still in the early 1920s.

History: Originally produced by Vocalion, the company would be taken over in 1932 by the Crystalate conglomerate. Label scan courtesy of music researcher and collector Bill Dean-Myatt of the U.K., who notes: "Finer grooves allowed this 10 inch record to play as long as a 12 inch one. This example was recorded in June 1930."
