Design: A clean-looking arrangement, treated with the logical approach and attention to detail typical of German design. This purple version of the label was its final form.
History: Artiphon-Record, which had been founded in 1919, stopped production in early 1932. The Jewish-owned label, which featured many Jewish performers on its records, was in fact a victim of Nazi persecution. Having attained political power at this time, the Nazis were diligent about depriving Jews of their business interests and eradicating any trace of Jewish influence on German culture.
