Adler Electro

Adler Electro (Germany) / c. 1932

Design: The distinctive hexagon used for the background panel was first seen on post-WWI Gennett labels. The word 'Adler' means 'eagle' in German, but this Art Deco-style illustration looks more like a hovering hawk or a fluttering parrot.

History: Label scan courtesy of musicologist and collector Bill Dean-Myatt of the U.K. Thanks for sleeve scan (below) and updated info to collector Georg Richter of Germany, who writes: "Adler Electro was initially a label of the Clausophon company, which went later into the Küchenmeister 'label collection.' According to German discographer Mr. Lange, the 5000 series ended in 1932."
