Waverley (U.K.) / c. 1922

Design: The bell image is reminiscent of the British Edison Bell logo, while the crossed horns are similar to the Regal image. Why the name 'Waverley' should have been chosen is unknown; the name is best known as the title of the 19th century series of novels by Sir Walter Scott. What the initial letters stand for is likewise unknown.

History: Label scan courtesy of music researcher and collector Bill Dean-Myatt of the U.K., who notes: "This label is very rare; many issues are still untraced. Everything on it is by William Hannah. They were recorded and pressed by Parlophone."
