Vocalion 2

Vocalion (U.K.) / 1926

back next

Design: Vocalion's British subsidiary used the same design elements as its U.S. parent company, but gave it even more decorative treatment. The label name is lettered in calligraphy instead of being a straight typeface. Horizontal swashes have been added. The row of butterfly-shaped ornaments at the top of the inner panel do not quite match the other ornamentation as they are not from the same period.

History: Originally known as 'Aeolian Vocalion,' the label name was shortened to 'Vocalion' in 1920.
