Sun (Canada) / 1922

Design: The colour combination of gold on blue is consistent with other Compo labels (e.g. Apex, Crown). The sun-ray design is very effective, with creative label name lettering adding interest.

History: According to author Brian Rust (The American Record Label Book), the Sun label issued masters from the U.S. Okeh label, using the same catalogue numbers. Label scan courtesy of musicologist and jazz aficionado Dave Dixon of Canada, who notes that despite its claims of Toronto as its city of origin, it was actually a Compo production from Montreal.
