Sterling (Canada) / c. 1929

Design: A strong label name, appearing in Roman capitals, with a distinctive 'R.' The 'libra' sign, representing the pound sterling, the currency of the United Kingdom, is appropriately used here; the same sign appearing on the early Parlophon label is used by Carl Lindstrom as an initial L.

History: Another in a long line of labels pressed by the Compo company of Lachine, Quebec. Label scan courtesy of jazzologist and collector Dave Dixon of Canada.
