Design: A fresh and dynamic design, the four points of the diamond-shaped panel (perhaps suggesting a star) appearing to flatten the outer edges of the circular label. The label name lettering is very futuristic, being based on geometric shapes, predating both the Art Deco exhibition (1925) and the worldwide success of geometric alphabets such as Futura (1927). The careful attention paid to typography is typical of German design of the period, which was far in advance of other European countries.
History: Label scan courtesy of collector Georg Richter of Germany, who writes: "Apparently the Star Record Company, located in Berlin SO.26, went bankrupt in mid-1924. The records were obviously pressed by Cremona-Resonanz Ges., Berlin SO.36."
