Design: At the top, electrical flashes emanate from a laurel-wreath panel with a tiny aeolian harp at its foot, containing the QRS 'blurb' proclaiming its products to be 'better,' toward a semicircular arc of stars which enclose the upper segment. The initials of the label name are rather unevenly hand-lettered, with differing horizontal proportions and different weights of serif to each letter. The black and gold colour combination (right) was the earlier of the two versions, both of which appeared in the late 1920s.
History: Founded in 1900, Q.R.S. began as manufacturers of player piano music rolls, and continues to this day making digital player piano kits. label Label scan courtesy of music researcher and collector Bill Dean-Myatt of the U.K.
