Perfectaphone 1

Perfectaphone (France) / c. 1929

Design: A zephyr plucks the strings of an aeolian harp, causing Perfectaphone records to cascade forth (a similar concept can be seen on the Fonotipia label). Romantic illustrations such as this are more typical of the pre-WWI era. The angular design either side of the illustration is also typically pre-WWI (e.g the Albion and Invicta labels).

History: Unknown (have info? Please send to info.re.78s@shaw.ca). Label scan courtesy of music researcher and collector Bill Dean-Myatt of the U.K.
