Oriole 3

Oriole (U.K.) / 1927

back next

Design: A completely different design from the parent American Oriole label, which features the bird of the same name commonly seen in North America, but which is not resident in England.

History: The Oriole label in England was handled by musical agents Levy Bros. of London, importers of records from abroad (who would later launch the Levaphone label). Label scan courtesy of music researcher and collector Bill Dean-Myatt of the U.K., who also notes that the masters came from the American Vocalion catalogue.
