Design: A unique style of lettering, set in a steep arc, with smear- or speed-marks on the right side. The angular fillers are reminiscent of shapes to be seen on earlier German-made records, e.g. Era.
History: Label scan courtesy of collector Georg Richter of Germany, who writes: "The Menola Rekord was a small label owned by a Mr. Karl Volknandt of Nürnberg, Germany (I think it bears no relation to the town of Menola, North Carolina, USA). One side of the record is numbered 5125, the other side 7505. When played, the tracks sound like overdubbed acoustic recordings from different matrices; tellingly, the orchestras are anonymous. I have not been able to find out anything about Karl Volknandt."
