Limania (Germany) / 1927

back next

Design: A pair of heraldic lions support the logo, which appears to be a foreshortened desk with a circular mirror carrying a capital 'L.' The inlining seen in the label name lettering is mirrored well in the treatment of the heraldic device and the flourishes below it. Although the upper segment occupies more than half the total area of the label, the imprinting is not compromised and is very neatly done.

History: Label scan courtesy of collector Georg Richter of Germany, who writes: "Limania was also (or perhaps mainly) a manufacturer of a line of cheap gramophones."
