Design: Overall, the weight of the various elements is evenly distributed and well balanced. The mask image, perhaps representing the device often seen in operatic performances, bears similarity to the Diva label. The design also features a very attractive laurel-leaf border and well-drawn label name lettering. The imprinted information, printed letterpress, is set in a variety of fonts, with the song title ('Il Barbiere di Siviglia') appearing in a font that probably dates from the late 1800s or very early 1900s.
History: Unknown. Franco Autori (1903-1945), the featured singer, emigrated to the U.S. in 1928 and held several important posts in the world of American opera. Label scan courtesy of collector Luca Barzaghi of Italy.
