Design: Appropriately for the label name, this is a graceful, feminine-looking label, all elements being softly rounded. A nice piece of script lettering is used for the label name, and a very pretty filigree ornament fills in the open space at the top. Why the 'La Belle' trade mark (with a period at the end) has been skewed to 90 degrees is unclear; perhaps to fit within the open space between the bookended ornaments.
History: Launched in 1919, this label was produced by Columbia, La Belle labels being pasted over Columbia's. It survived until 1923. Label scan courtesy of music researcher and collector Bill Dean-Myatt of the U.K.
