Kiddyphone (U.K.) / c. 1928

back next

Design: A pair of green-clad gnomes delight in the sound of an octagonally-shaped wind-up phonograph. As with other records oriented toward children (such as Lincoln), the brightly coloured illustration takes precedence, occupying a large overall percentage of the label.

History: Label scan courtesy of music researcher and collector Bill Dean-Myatt of the U.K., who notes that this 5 1/2 inch record label was made by the Crystalate conglomerate.
