Imperial (U.K.) / 1928

Design: The crown is retained, but the cope, or regal robe, has been dropped. The gold and purple combination continues the subliminal association with royalty; the lavender colour is made by adding white to the purple printing ink.

History: The Crystalate Company, which produced the Imperial label along with several others, evolved out of the Neophone Company, and during the Depression years of the early 1930s would become absorbed into the Decca organization.
