Design: Three distinct families of lettering are mixed here, representing a wide progression of time: 'Art Tone' appears in roman (a lettering style developed, as the name suggests, by the Romans over 2000 years ago); the Gennett name, in Gothic (evolving in the medieval era, about 500 years ago), and all the other info in sans serif, which first appeared in the 19th century.

History: The 'Art Tone' designation was a more expensive line of the Gennett label, but which only lasted for a couple of years.
