Design: Black and yellow makes for a strong colour contrast, as does the curvilinear organic border and the angular logo. The logo is an extreme example of the swash-underlined script style which began in the early years of the century as a way of creating a distinctive 'logotype' or 'word-picture' for a business name.

History: Label scan courtesy of music researcher and collector Bill Dean-Myatt of the U.K., who notes that this company, which originally sold bicycles and now sells electrical goods, had its own label between the years 1911 and 1928.
