Continental Electro

Continental Electro (Germany) / 1928

back next

Design: A tightly-drawn logo in the 1920s style, the angle of the strokes being strictly regimented (note strong design similarities to the Clausophon label). The song title is set in a very old tightly-condensed Victorian-era font, in order to get the words into one line; the rest of the imprinting is done in Korinna, designed in Germany in 1904.

History: Label scan courtesy of collector Georg Richter of Germany, who writes: "The Continental Electro label was a subsidiary of Kalliope, and lasted from the middle to the end of the 1920s. Unfortunately I have no Continental label on hand without the 'Electro' designation."
