Clipper (Hong Kong) / c. 1929

Design: An attractive, well-balanced symmetrical label, featuring a crudely-drawn image of a sailing ship (roughly representing a 'China clipper,' a streamline-hulled ship carrying a huge amount of sail, built to transport cargoes of tea from China to markets in England during the late 19th century). The illustration, label name and Chinese lettering are all of an even weight. The history of 'Elephant True Tone Recording' technology is unknown.

History: Label scan courtesy of music researcher and collector Bill Dean-Myatt of the U.K.
