Design: The label graphics are identical to the U.S. Gennett label of the late 1920s (right), with the label name in the identical Gothic style; the only difference is the purple and gold colour combination.
History: Label scan courtesy of musicologist and collector Bill Dean-Myatt of the U.K. Thanks for updated info to collector Adam Miller of New Zealand, who writes: "The main label of Angelus was produced by Clifford Industries in Sydney, Australia between 1928 and 1931. It drew on the US Cameo, Gennett, Crown, Paramount and Grey Gull catalogues. At first gold on black, it then appeared in gold on purple [as above]. A special late series appearing in black on yellow drew from the U.K. Imperial catalogue."
