Venus Grand Record 2

Venus Grand Record (Poland) / c. 1913

Design: The iconic image of Venus de Milo (see previous page) has disappeared, while the three records now appear to be sitting on top of classical columns (?), the larger one at the centre being overlapped by a smaller one on either side. The purple and gold colour combination reflects an association with royalty. Though redrawn, the label name lettering, with its curvilinear forms, still retains the influence of Art Nouveau.

History: Label scan courtesy of music researcher and collector Lucyna Lachowicz of Poland.
