The Vesper Record

The Vesper Record (U.K.) / c. 1910

Design: 'Vesper' means either 'Venus, the evening star' or 'evening service.' The Gothic lettering for the label name seems to suggest the latter meaning, being commonly associated with medieval Christianity. The lettering of the word 'Record,' within its semicircular panel, is not well-matched.

History: Label scan courtesy of musicologist and collector Bill Dean-Myatt of the U.K.
