Symphony Concert Record

Symphony Concert Record (U.K.) / c. 1914

back next

Design: A conservative layout, but the 'JR' logo stands out as being more in the style of commercial advertising.

History: Unknown (have info? Please send to info.re.78s@shaw.ca). Label scan courtesy of music researcher and collector Bill Dean-Myatt of the U.K., who writes: "The track was recorded in March 1913. The masters originated with the British Guardsman/Invicta label. Invicta does not seem to have been owned by Isi, whose name appears on the label beside the spindle-hole." What the 'JR' initials stand for is unkown. Mr. Pamby Dick, the featured artist, is supposed to be recording exclusively for Symphony Concert Records, but his name appears on the Homophon label.
