Design: Another extremely powerful and attractive piece of graphic art from the Maassen company's art studio, showing stylized laurel leaves emanating from a lyre carved with bird-like arms, the interstices between the complex stained-glass-like fretwork being filled with organic decoration. Here, the freely-drawn label name lettering is highlighted by a light shadow, rather than the more usual dark colour, as in the Eden-Record label from the same publisher (right).

History: Label scan courtesy of collector Gabriel Gössel of Czechoslovakia, who writes: "This label was made in Bohemia by Hermann Maassen for an unidentified wholesaler."
