Stella Concert Record

Stella Concert Record (Tsarist Russia) / c. 1912

Design: A very attractive design showing a well-dressed young mother and daughter (or perhaps they are sisters?) extolling the virtues of the sound emanating from a bell-horned phonograph. The image targets the younger segment of the market, and also recognizes the increasing purchasing power of females, under a feminine label name.

Remnants of Victorian-era design remain in the bracketing dividing the upper and lower segments.

History: Label scan courtesy of collector Helmut Janisch of Germany.
