National Record (U.K.) / 1910

Design: A delicate Art Nouveau border, similar to that seen on other German-made labels such as Kronophon Record and Butterfly Record. Above the spindle-hole there seems to be a profile of a woman's head, facing left, but who it might represent and why it is so indistinct is unknown. The red and gold colour combination is often not a good choice for legibility.

History: Label scan courtesy of music researcher and collector Bill Dean-Myatt of the U.K., who notes that this label was produced by Edison Bell. Alternate colour scan (below) courtesy of collector Greg Butler, also of the U.K.
