Lyric Record 1

Lyric Record (U.K.) / 1917

Design: The strap across the centre is much like that seen on the Philharmonic Record, and likely comes from the same source. The word 'Lyric,' in Victoriana lettering, overlays a music-staff, while the word 'Record' is arranged in a decorative style typical of the 'Artistic Printing' era of the 1890s.

History: Label scan courtesy of music researcher and collector Bill Dean-Myatt of the U.K., who notes that this label used masters from other German-made labels such as Kalliope, Favorite, Polyphon etc.
