Kronophon-Record (Argentina) / c. 1911

back next

Design: A very similar basic design to the Hohnerphone Record, showing exactly the same fonts for the imprinting. There are also design similarities to the Artigas label, which also features a 'candelabra' arrangement of ornaments.

History: Label scan courtesy of collector and music researcher Daniel Beller of Israel, who notes: "Kronophon-Record was one of a variety of labels offered to the countries of the River La Plata (Argentina and Uruguay) by the Swedish-German businessman Carl Lindström. They all seem to be variants of the same basic Polyphone masters."
