Homphon-Record

Homphon-Record (Czechoslovakia) / c. 1913

back next

Design: A well-arranged design utilizing Victorian-era condensed capitals for the label name, overarching a chandelier-shaped ornamental arrangement.

History: Label scan courtesy of collector Gabriel Gössel of Czechoslovakia, who writes: "This was a cheap label with practically same repertoire as found on common Homokord labels from that time (from where its matrices were obtained). In Germany the Homphon label was distributed by the Titania Record Co.; in Prague it was offered in the catalogues of the wholesellers Kettner & Riedl."
