Fox-Record (Austro-Hungarian Empire) / 1913

Design: Except for the label name, the design is identical to the earlier Patria-Record (right). For legal reasons, the 'Trade Mark' notation is absent (see below).

History: Label scan courtesy of collector Gabriel Gössel of Czechoslovakia, who writes: "This label was founded by Diego Fuchs ('Fox') and pressed in the factory of Hermann Maassen in Obergrund near Carlsbad. It appeared just for a short time after Fuchs had to stop production of his various 'Patria' labels when German Deutschen Grammophon (DGG) sued him for using his fox-and-phonograph logo, which was too similar to the well-known 'Nipper' image. The matrices were obtained from Beka and Kalliope."
