Design: A hodge-podge of design elements, following the same pattern as the Gamage store which, as it grew and acquired neighbouring properties, became something of a rabbit-warren. The knight in battle-armour holds a shield depicting the (white on red) cross of St. George, patron saint of England.

History: The legendary low-priced Gamages shopping emporium began in London in the 1880s, and would continue for almost 100 years. Label scan courtesy of music researcher and collector Bill Dean-Myatt of the U.K.
