Amor Grand Record

Amor Grand Record (Czechoslovakia) / c. 1912

Design: This delightful, well-balanced design exhibits much of the decorative influence of the Victorian era, with a pleasant blue, gold and peach colour scheme

History: Label scan courtesy of collector Gabriel Gössel of Czechoslovakia, who writes: "This is a variation of the Austrian A.B.C. Grand Record (right). The 'schoolboy' shooting his bow at the target is here replaced by 'Amor' ('Love,' symbolized by the naked, winged Cupid). These records were targeted at the Czech minority living in Austria; who the distributor of these records in Bohemia was is unknown."
