Design: The beautifully drawn illustration, printed in several colours by chromo-lithography, reveals how quickly the 78 rpm label developed as an art form.

History: Label scan courtesy of collector and music researcher Bill Dean-Myatt of the U.K., who writes: "Based in Warsaw, when Poland was part of the Czarist Empire, Syrena was in existence from 1904 to 1939. This example dates from about 1906."
